JOHANNA JACKSON, MSW, RSW
Johanna is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and has been working in the mental health/addictions field for close to 10 years. She has worked with various populations in a variety of settings, including the community, corrections, and hospital. Johanna mainly worked with adolescents and adults, addressing many presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, substance use & process addiction, domestic violence, and relationship & family issues. She uses her laid-back nature and humor to connect with clients, which helps foster an environment that feels both comfortable and safe.
Johanna tends to draw from various therapeutic modalities (Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy), and work with clients to determine the best approach to fit their needs and goals.
Johanna currently practices virtually (either by video or telephone – whichever the client prefers), which helps to eliminate various barriers to accessing mental health support. Counselling sessions can be claimed through insurance benefits, so long as they cover Social Work/Psychotherapy Services.
