MICHELLE SMITH, DAc, CAHP, RRPr
OFFICE MANAGER, REFLEXOLOGIST
Michelle grew up in the small town of Stouffville, Ontario. After high school, she became employed at a dental clinic where she learned hands-on training to become a dental assistant. After a few years of working in this field, a severe motor vehicle accident forced her to reassess her career goals and life path. After two years of intensive physiotherapy treatments, as well as therapy from alternative care practitioners (chiropractic, massage, etc.), and seeing impressive and fast delivered results, her passion was sparked to move from the dental field into the health and wellness alternative care community.
After several years of working as a senior administrative assistant alongside doctors of chiropractic, naturopaths and acupuncturists, Michelle had the desire to return to college to complete her Diploma in Medical Administration, Diploma in Acupuncture, and a certificate in reflexology. Having a love for administration, business development and finance, Michelle has worked over 19 years in the healthcare field as an office manager, executive assistant, and private consultant for many colleges and private practices, building some of those businesses from the ground up to the respected institutions they are today. After seven years as a highly energetic and progressive entrepreneur, she opened her private professional practice as an acupuncturist and reflexologist working out of an urgent care facility alongside multiple facets in the medical field with medical doctors, chiropodists, and radiologists. Michelle gained a multitude of experience working in the healthcare profession. She also provided home care for the elderly and those who are physically challenged.
Michelle has been published in multiple GTA-based magazines for her articles and writings on alternative healthcare and wellness. She has volunteered with many municipal and provincial institutions such as the Ministry of Training and Education, Markham Stouffville Hospital, Toronto and Durham Police Service, Markham Fire & Emergency Services, and she has also provided healthcare lunch and learns for companies such as Extendacare, Amex Canada, and Hydro One.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys volunteering within her community through her church and has a strong dedication and devotion to animals, having an interest in animal adoption and animal rescue specifically. Michelle loves to be outdoors with her dog Sophie and always makes a priority to spend time with friends and family.
